Bill Clifford
President and CEO

Since joining WorldBoston as Executive Director in January 2008, Bill has led a successful rebranding effort, doubled distinguished-speaker programs and conferences to more than 32 per year, and increased membership in the organization by more than 80 percent.  He has also launched Academic WorldQuest for Boston area high schools. The program, an international affairs knowledge competition, has grown rapidly from just two pilot teams three years ago to more than 15 high school teams preparing for the 2011 WorldQuest.

Previously, Bill was a journalist covering international finance and economics in Asia, where he launched and directed news bureaus in Japan and Hong Kong for the pioneering multimedia venture CBS MarketWatch. Prior to that, he was senior correspondent for CNBC Asia in Tokyo. Bill holds an M.A. from The Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a B.A. summa cum laude in international relations and French literature from Tufts University, and a C.E.P. in public policy from Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Paris.

Eli
Harrington
Manager of Operations

Eli Harrington is the Manager of Operations at WorldBoston and supervises international visitor programs, volunteer recruitment/training (including internships), and is involved with external partnerships, development and communications. He has been in the NCIV/WACA family for over 3 years, having spent 2.5 years as Director of International Visitor Programs at the Vermont Council on World Affairs (VCWA) and most recently worked with CommonGoodVT, a statewide nonprofit dedicated to capacity-building within the nonprofit sector.

Eli has been a featured national/regional presenter discussing social media in the IVLP and has gained experience coordinating a variety of specialized international visitor programs, especially those dealing with youth leadership. A former varsity baseball player at Brandeis University, Eli graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in International & Global Studies: Global Communication & Media and received a Hiatt "World of Work" Fellowship that allowed him to live and study in Beijing for three months in 2008 where he studied Mandarin and worked with the Voice of America (VOA).

Outside of work, Eli is an avid snowboarder and makes many pilgrimages to his native Vermont each winter. In the summertime, he loves to ride his bicycle around Boston, read historical nonfiction, play all sports involving a ball, and pursue his entrepreneurial spirit with side projects and small businesses.

Jessica Menasce

Coordinator, International Visitor Programs

Jessica Menasce joined WorldBoston in June 2011, first as a volunteer and then as a Program Coordinator that fall. Her passion for cultures and international affairs led to her involvement in the International Visitor Program. In the past year, Jessica has administered professional programs and arranged cultural activities for over 40 delegations visiting Boston via the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.  In addition, Jessica has also fostered new relationships and strengthened partnerships with local organizations, universities, and representatives of various industries to promote the mission of WorldBoston and the IVLP focused on cultural diplomacy, economic development, and personal connections. Given her diverse spectrum of interests, she embraces the opportunity to connect with experts in every field--from biotech and clean energy to business development and entrepreneurship, human rights and security to education and media.

Jessica was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to Miami, Florida at the age of seven. She considers herself a "Third Cultured Kid" because she was born into a family of Diasporas--father born in the Congo, mother in Peru, grandparents from Rhodes--and cherishes it for giving her the ability to relate to others in a unique way. She went onto attend the University of Florida, study abroad in London, and graduate with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Chemistry in 2010. Outside of WorldBoston, Jessica is very involved with Rotary International and is the acting Boston Rotaract-Rotary Liaison. Her other passions include: traveling, fitness, yoga, different cuisines, and exploring Boston and everything it has to offer.
